Below are all the school holiday camps for the 2022-2023 season.  Players are split into four small groups based on age and skill level to maximize reps and coach attention. 

 

• February Break Camps

  • Monday February 20       Skating, Stickhandling & Puck Control
  • Tuesday February 21      Passing & Puck Movement Camp
  • Wednesday February 22    Shooting Skills Camp
  • Thursday February 23         Small Area Games Camp
  • Holiday Twin Rinks
  • 1 Camp = $40, 2 - 3 Camps = $35 each, All 4 Camps = $30 each
  • Players signed up for 10 or more Nichols skills are discounted to $35 for any number of camps
  •  8:00 - 10:00am     Mite, Squirt         
  • 10:00am - 12noon   Pewee, Bantam, Midget
  • 12noon - 2:00pm   Mite/Squirt  &  Pewee/Bantam/Midget
    • 2 Mite/Squirt groups, 2 Pewee/Bantam/Midget Groups.  Groups will perform the station for their age group/level.

• HOCKEY IQ DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM

  • AAA/AA players
  • Jersey provided
  • Squirt (2013 – 2014), Pewee (2011 – 2012), Bantam (2009 – 2010), Girls ONLY! Group #1 (2010, 2011, 2012), & Girls ONLY! Group #2 (2006, 2007, 2008, 2009) Age groups
  • 12- 1 1/2 hour ice sessions (10 practices, 2 games) = 18 hours total ice
  • Access to Mark Zarbo Hockey IQ Video Database
    • Video lessons are provided prior to each practice for players to review
  • Pixellot Analytics Video Account for each player
    •  Pixellot is an all-in-one system that allows Mark Zarbo Hockey to post all game film, allows players to view the game and all “events” tagged by Pixellot as well as provides Mark Zarbo Hockey a platform to breakdown and send out clips from games to all players. 
  • Mark Zarbo Hockey Game Breakdown
    • Through the Pixellot account, Mark Zarbo Hockey will provide a general game breakdown (15 – 20 clips) based on skills/topics learned in practice sessions for players to review after the 2 games.

• MITE DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM

  • 2015, 2016, 2017 birth years
    • Players should have at least 1 year of hockey experience.  This is NOT a learn-to-skate program.
  • Jersey provided
  • 10 – 1 hour skill sessions
    • Players can sign up for back-to-back Mite Programs (2 hours) if they choose.
  • Players are split into 4 small groups based on age and skill level.  Each session is 4 stations focusing on a mix of all skills.
  • Generous discounts on gear & other programs are provided!

• MIDGET DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM

• 3 v 3 Cross-Ice development league

  • AAA/AA Players
  • Jersey provided
  • Mite (2015, 2016, 2017), Squirt (2013 – 2014), Pewee (2011 – 2012), Bantam (2009 – 2010), Midget (2005, 2006, 2007, 2008) Age Groups
    • Divisions are made for each age group based on birth year and level of play.
  • 8 game days (April – June)
    • Saturdays
    • Teams play 2– 30-minute games each ice time
    • 14 regular season games, 2 playoffs
    • 1-minute timed shifts, change on the horn to ensure equal ice time
  • Teams consist of 9 players & 1 goalie
    • Mark Zarbo Hockey Staff coach teams
    • Players sign up as an individual, and teams are made after sign-up is complete.
       

• SPRING/SUMMER SKILL SESSIONS

  • Sunday & Wednesday are skill days.
    • Sunday is Full Ice Skills (~20 players per group)
    • Wednesdays are 1/2 Ice Small Group Skills (~12 players)
  • Topics to choose from include:
    •  Skating, Stickhandling & Puck Control (Full Ice)
    • Overspeed Skating (1/2 Ice)
    • Stickhandling & Puck Control (1/2 Ice)
    • Shooting Skills (1/2 Ice)
    • Passing & Puck Movement (1/2 Ice)

  • Players can pick & choose as many or as few sessions as they want to attend.  Cost is based on the number of sessions chosen. Quantity discounts are available.
    • Players signed up for a main program are eligible for a discounted flat rate of $17/session.

• BODY CONTACT, BATTLING & CHECKING CAMPS

  • Monday July 10th – Thursday July 13th
  • Holiday Twin Rinks
  • 4 Practices— 1 ½ hour Ice Sessions (6 Hours Total Practice Ice)
  • Body Contact, Battling & Puck Protection Program
    • 2012, 2013, 2014 Birth Years
  • Introduction to Checking, Body Contact & Battling Program
    • 2010, 2011 Birth Years
  • Advanced Body Contact, Battling & Puck Protection Program
    • Group #1 = 2008, 2009 Birth Years
    • Group #2 = 2005, 2006, 2007 Birth Years

• SKATING & EDGE WORK DEVELOPMENT

  • Full ice 12 players, 2 coach small group sessions (1:6 player to coach ratio)
  • AAA/AA travel-level players.
  • Friday mornings at Holiday Twin Rinks July – August
  • Sessions will focus on edge work, skating mechanics, Overspeed/quickness & puck control skills. 
  • Players pick and choose the dates they want to attend. Spots are first come, first serve.
  • YOUNGER = Mite, Squirt, Pewee Minor (2012 – 2015 AAA/AA)
  • OLDER = Pewee, Bantam, Midget (2005 – 2011 AAA/AA)

• DEFENSE SKILLS PROGRAM

  • 4-day Defense Skills Program
  • AAA/AA Players
  • Age Groups:
    • Bantam (2009, 2010) & Midget (2006, 2007, 2008) = July 17th – July 20th, Holiday Rinks
    • Squirt (2013, 2014) & Pewee (2011, 2012) = August 14th – August 17th, Holiday Rinks
  • 16 Total Training Hours
    • 12 hours on ice (3 hours per day)
    • 4 hours classroom (1 hour per day)

• 3 v 3 ICE BREAKER TOURNAMENT

  • 1-Day Tournaments.  This means the whole tournament, from start to finish, will take place in 1 day. Click on the Link for all details!
  • Teams are guaranteed 4 games, with 1 being a playoff game.
  • Teams can consist of a MAXIMUM of 9 players, 2 goalies, 2 coaches
  • Teams are split into divisions based on age and level. All divisions are released before teams must commit.
