These unique classes/programs are being hosted by Mark Zarbo. Mark has extensive hockey and athletic training experience, playing Division 1 college hockey at Bentley College in the AHA for 1 season and 3 seasons at RPI (Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute) in the ECAC. He graduated in 2010 from RPI with a BS in Business and Managment. After graduating from RPI Mark attended graduate school at UB where he received his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree in May of 2014. Currently Mark is a Physical Therapist for Advanced Care PT who focuses on prevention and rehabilitation of athletic injuries. Mark is also Certified USA Weightlifting Instructor and a certified Active Release Technique Therapist. The 2019 Sport International Hockey Academy will be offering the Buffalo hockey community two weeks of exciting hockey instruction. We will be returning to Leisure Rinks JULY 22 - 26 and AUGUST 19 - 23. Sport International is entering it's 30th year of operation, and is a nationally recognized organization, offering programs in 35 cities. The Sport International Philosophy is "Total Hockey", with the accent on skill repetition and highly energized "originally designed" drills. Sport International is a fast paced program, perfect for any level of hockey player. Our highly qualified, "charismatic" college/professional staff, will ensure that every student, enjoys a positive learning experience. Each player will, receive their personalized take-home video analysis tape/DVD, for continuous future review. The main themes are edgework, positioning, fundamental save skills, post play, game situations, and puck handling, Every session will also emphasize tracking the puck, controlling rebounds, and competing hard on every shot. Goalies will be grouped according to age and skill level. Each station will be supervised by a coach.

Friday Specialty Clinics are designed for goaltenders 2010 and older. Each week will have a specific theme. Goalies will be grouped according to age and skill level.
Friday AAA Semi-Private Sessions
The Friday AAA semi-private clinic is designed for 2006 and older travel goaltender. There will be a maximum of 1-2 goalies per station that will be supervised by a coach. The drills and coaching techniques used will be based on the individual goaltender. There will be an emphasis on edgework, puck tracking, post play, rebound control, and puckhandling.

Returning to Holiday Twin Rinks July 15 - 18, 2019. This specialized school has been operating since 1971. With a student teacher ratio of 6 to 1 students will receive intense individual instruction including Stickhandling/Shooting, Power Skating as well as Team Skills and 4 on 4 Scrimmage games. Groups for Mites/Squirts& Pee Wee/Bantam. Features 2 hours of ice time per day.
These specialized instructional camps will be held the week of July 15-19 @ Holiday Twin Rinks & August 12-16 @ Leisure Rinks.
There will be specialty camps for Defenseman, Powerskating-Stickhandling & Skills Development and will feature specific areas of concentration that will improve the players techniques and skills. The school will be instructed by Robert Maxick.

Playmakers Hockey Academy at Leisure Rinks is a great way to maximize development during the off-season. This program combines our On-Ice Skill Development, Video/Classroom, and Dryland Training services into a complete Hockey Academy Development experience. Sessions are programmed with a specific rotating training theme to maximize delivered content and learn-ability for our academy players. Utilizing research-based methods for development, our program is sure to be effective and enjoyable. Our academy is open to AA/AAA/High School/Junior players at all positions (Forwards, Defensemen, & Goaltenders) with dedicated Player & Goalie Coaches during ice sessions.
